Spare some time on something useless or ineffective.
"Time is gold"
It's a phrase that's used often to encourage kids and adults alike to do something productive.
Because of this, we try so hard to be doing something with every minute of our lives.
But something doesn't have to be productive or effective to be brilliant.
For a convenient example, think of any Rube Goldberg machine.
(OK Go videos are great)
It's completely counter-productive, and no one would consider them effective in our everyday lives.
However, they are brilliant.
It's the time and effort that is put into making the machine that makes it so valuable,
not how productive or useful it is.
I think that since time is gold, anything we do with that time is also gold.
So today, spare some time.
Take things slow, take the long way home, stare at the sky, or sit in the tub.
Anything's fine.  Afterall, it's a happy happy Friday.
